It is "Truly Magical"
Rare woods and expensive marbles are being
spotted more and more in homes and businesses
these days, thanks to artist Janet Mathis of
Truly Magical Painting.
Janet does not deal in wood or marble at all.
Her business is that of illusion. Her
painting is so realistic that people have to
actually touch walls to see if they are stone or
examine columns closely because her faux marble
is difficult to distinguish from the real thing,
as you can see from the columns to the right.
In addition to an abundance of natural talent,
Janet has studied under various teachers in Vancouver, British Columbia and
took part in an exclusive study tour in Italy, painting frescoes, creating
stencils, marbleizing, and learning how to gild using 24-carat gold.
She uses high quality materials to ensure her
work is long lasting. Although every job is unique, she
can often paint a wall for what it would cost to
buy wallpaper and have it professionally
hung.
